Marketing the
early-stage company

Startups face unique challenges, and we bring extensive experience in developing go-to-market and early-stage marketing focused on generating the kind of results you need to propel your nascent company to profitable growth. All without spending an arm and a leg.

Our flexibility enables us to help startups in a variety of ways. We can help you organize your marketing department and select marketing specialist vendors, such as PR firms, interactive marketing agencies, etc. Or we can provide those services to you via our own skills or our affiliated specialists. We also can serve as your "virtual marketing department."

Our expertise includes helping startups:

1. Determine marketing strategy, including pricing, whom to pursue as initial customers versus later-term customers, distribution, positioning and what mix of marketing tools to use when. Developing marketing strategy typically involves conducting research to understand your prospective customers and competitors in light of what you want to accomplish.

2. Create marketing campaigns to build awareness and generate customers. Using the marketing strategy described above, we can apply the appropriate marketing tools (PR, direct, advertising, etc.) that will resonate with prospective customers. Learn more by reading about our marketing services. Our marketing tools are characterized as being customer-centric and creative, but developed in cost-saving ways.

3. Forge sales support tools so that your sales staff can sell more in a more profitable way. More info.

4. Set up the metrics and dashboard you will need to track the effectiveness of your marketing and sales activities.

A shameless self-promotion

A small software company wanted to generate new leads in a cost-efficient manner. Recognizing that CIOs/CTOs would very likely need to encounter the then-unknown company several times before taking action, a three-pronged direct mail campaign was developed, but each of the three pieces were batch printed to minimize costs. The company experienced stronger response to the campaign than to any prior.

Another shameless self-promotion

A speaker training company had us develop a simple but tasteful website for the company even though it was focusing on just one prospective customer in order to communicate the idea that new firm was "established."

Because of our search engine optimization work accompanying the website's development, additional prospective customer contacted the training company "out of the blue."
